I've got another little X-project going. This one seeks to overlay the captions onto the video itself, rather than have them running below. Kind of a version 2.0, though the original format of the YouTube Captioning Thing certainly isn't going anywhere. So far I've tested it in Safari and Firefox (latest versions of each) on a Mac. If you wouldn't mind giving me a little hand, go to http://www.spacetoast.net/caption/overlaytest.html in your different browsers and on your different systems, and let me know if it's behaving. There's a screengrab of the desired behavior on the test page. Let me know what you think of the format, and especially ping me when you find bugs. Cheers.

It's one of those shows that I probably would have believed I'd imagined it if I hadn't seen the weird evidence with my own eyes (speaking of, look for me to do an episode of Kidd Video in the future). Definitely do the rest of this! And here's the latest on my multi-part project: Titanic the Animated Movie part 4. Featuring not one, but two embarrassingly bad musical numbers. Charles Dickons [sic] "A Christmas Carol" Thanks for dragging my lazy ass through November guys -- can't wait for the next installments of Dougal and Titanic. (I mean, I feel my butt puckering a little when I think in detail about Titanic, but that's got to be expected around the holidays...) I'm strangely fascinated by the Magic Roundaboutverse and its crumbling walls of reality; as an American, though, I did spend a bit too long wondering how this was all taking place in one of those lonely little grass patches in the middle of a traffic circle.

Space, I particularly enjoyed the asthmatic Casio soundtrack that ran out thirty seconds before the movie ended. I fully understand why the theory exists that everyone in The Magic Roundabout is addicted to some substance or another. If I lived in a land with a Day-Glo landscape, gigantic snails and men with springs for nether regions, I'd probably start doing some serious shit to take my mind off as well. Anyone fancy doing another group riff? I really enjoyed the first one. Another idea would be to do a "roundtable" where each person takes one segment of a multi-part subject and does their thing. Just a thought... (I mean, I feel my butt puckering a little when I think in detail about Titanic, but that's got to be expected around the holidays...) The scary thing is, I've since discovered that there are actually two Italian animated movies about the Titanic.
