Wow, it's almost been a year since the last time we spoke on this subject.

I tried out the script last night. I had to do some adjustments. It works, indeed it does, but unfortunately, I can't find where the grabs go. They don't end up crowding my desktop (which I thought they might). They just . . . disappear. The problem is basically this line:

do shell script "screencapture ~/Desktop/grabs/screenshot" & a & ".png"

I made some adjustments, so that the grabs would go into a folder I already had on my desk top. I also changed the part where it said ".png", so it would save as a .jpg. Nevertheless, when I tried to open up where I thought the screengrabs would go, they "were saved in an unrecognizable format", or some such thing. I ended up just doing the VLC screencapture thing manually. I'm not giving up though; I want to try to figure out the script and see how to apply it to my circumstances. I may end up writing a scrip to do the VLC automatically. It's already set up to go to a certain folder. I just need to write a script to press the "k" button every 10 seconds. . .

SpaceToast, if you have any more suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I think I need to write the script again, but only change the .png to .jpg. And maybe do the whole thing in DVD player rather than VLC. It could be why my grabs were going to no-man's-land.

Turns out, I'm in love with A.D. Skinner -- I hear he's got a bigger flashlight.
