More news keeps leaking out bit by bit:
1) In the words of The Blackest Night: the dead will rise! Damon Lindelof and Michael Emerson have both confirmed that the final season will see returns from those dearly departed. Damon: "We would like there to be some visitations from people we've loved over time." Emerson: "The final season will resemble the first. I know there are plans for big people we have parted company with to reappear." Apparently Dominic Monaghan has met with Lindelof about possibly returning as Charlie. Ian Somerhalder (Boone) said in an interview "I've heard a little bit about what's happening this season on Lost, and there's definitely an avenue they're going down to bring back a lot of us." Maggie Grace (Shannon) also said "I'm looking forward to visiting Hawaii soon. I don't know why..." And even Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje would love to have a return for Eko. "To be able to give that rich character some completion would be nice." At a guess I'm thinking the ONLY two dead folks we'll be guaranteed not to see are Michael and Libby, since the actors have sort of burned their bridges with the producers. 2) JJ Abrams has confirmed he will NOT be directing the finale. Show stalwart Jack Bender will do those honors. 3) A recent panel with Carlton and Damon gave a few nuggets: a) Originally in the season four premiere, Hurley was going to come across himself in Jacob's cabin, but the network urged them to change the scene to Christian Shepherd, afraid it would set a precedent of weirdness. b) Apparently in the writer's room there's a wall of "not-dead, dead, and undead" with characters' names on them -- and Claire's name was seen on the "dead" side. Carlton joked that "eventually all of them will be on the wall of the dead." c) When they were autographing stuff for the fans one person gave them a copy of Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince to sign (WTF??) and Damon made the enigmatic comment "Locke is VERY similiar to Snape!" Hmmmm. Only a few weeks till ComicCon and the first break in radio silence. I'm wondering if we'll get a 'final' Pierre Chang video. "We've got an egg donor. They'll combine her eggs with our sperm and then implant those embryos in a surrogate where, god willing, one of them will grow to term." "I thought I saw every episode of Star Trek. Wait, is this Deep Space Nine? Because I won't watch that. It's garbage and I'll tell you why! One: ..." Greg and Stan, American Dad |

I was looking at Lostpedia.com -- I didn't know the re-watch marathon began in June! Anybody been watching? I thought I'd get to it after Torchwood.
I'll have to calculate how much time I'll need.
Edit (after reading Glitter's post): Yes, but will we see Nikki and Paolo? I'm dying to see another episode of Expose! I'd love to see Charlie and Mr. Eko come back. I can see them bringing Shannon back to set Sayid straight, if his path should waver. And Boone? I can see him coming back to haunt both Jack and Locke. Now, I know Harold Perrineau might have caused trouble for himself with his I want on / I want off the show antics (rumors that I can't verify at the moment, but I know I heard/read it somewhere). But Cynthia Watros -- what'd she do? It can't be the drunk driving thing because both she and Michelle Rodriguez appeared on the show after they were supposedly "kicked off".

True. But Lindelof made allusions that efforts had been made to get her back for more appearances which she turned down. He said in an interview "I have learned that if you kill someone off the show, they are less likely to cooperate with you." "We've got an egg donor. They'll combine her eggs with our sperm and then implant those embryos in a surrogate where, god willing, one of them will grow to term." "I thought I saw every episode of Star Trek. Aaah, I see. Perhaps she thought it would be cooler to make out with Jacob on CSI than be a ghost on Lost.

I haven't been doing a rewatch marathon, simply because I'm already zipping through the stories getting ready for the month-to-month special starting
in August. Once next season ends, then I'm going to rewatch from the beginning again.
The Emmy nods are out. It has nominations for Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor (Michael Emerson). "We've got an egg donor. Start pinching those pennies. ABC, with Profiles In History, will be auctioning off some of Lost's props in May of 2010. Specific info of what'll be on
the block isn't available yet, but Darlton will be showcasing some at ComicCon in a few days. Early word teases that Hurley's lotto ticket, Kate's
toy plane, and Eko's Jesus-stick will be among the goods.
Here's the page for the site, and only features a link to sign up for email updates currently. http://www.profilesinhistory.com/ "We've got an egg donor. Some of the auction-props have been shown at CC. Some of what'll be up for bid are:
* Ben's "Dean Moriarty" passport * the milk carton with Walt on it from Hurley's season 2-dream * Charlie's guitar * the Dharma collar found by Charlotte in the desert * the Dharma rum bottle that Juliet when Sawyer swam back to the island * Charlie's Drive Shaft ring * Jin's original hand cuff * Kate's Dharma suit * Kate's toy plane * Locke's compass (the one he gave to Richard to give to himself) * Locke's "I wish you'd believed" note (and envelope) to Jack * Penny's letter to Desmond when he went to prison * and at least 3 Virgin Marys (heroin not included) And it looks like the latest online role-playing game is in the works: http://www.lostuniversity.org/ "We've got an egg donor. Comic-Con rundown!
There was a Dharma Initiative video shown at the beginning. More details (and hopefully a YouTube link) later on. EDIT: It was an ad for the Dharma Initiative segment of Mysteries Of The Universe over at the Mysteries section of abc.com's Lost site. A great little takeoff on In Search Of. Apparently there's a Jack/Sawyer Brokeback Mountain video shown as well. Not sure whether it was specially shot, or mocked together with clips. EDIT - It was put together with clips. Other edited videos Darlton showed was Muppet Babies spliced with Lost dialogue and Jack on the phone with Microsoft Tech Support. Darlton produced the last two pages of the final episode and locked them in a lockbox. They said the box will be opened on Jimmy Kimmel Live the night of the finale to prove they had the ending in mind already. EDIT-This seems to have been a set-up for a joke later on. When Josh Holloway came on stage he 'tazered' Damon to get the key and demanded Carlton give him the box. When he opened it and revealed what the pages said, they were revealed as pages from a 'Heroes' script. There will be "many characters" from season 1 appearing this year. Faraday is confirmed to be reappearing next season! Three LOST related commercials were shown. One with Hurley at Mr. Cluck's. Another with Kate and America's Most Wanted's John Walsh about a missing child. No news on the third. EDIT - Kate's installment wasn't about a missing child; it was an America's Most Wanted commercial on the search for fugitive Kate Austen. There doesn't seem to have been a third. Jorge Garcia and Michael Emerson apparently had a hilarious back-and-forth onstage, one-upping each other. Apparently it's leading to a video of "Michael Emerson's audition for Hurley"
Carlton confirmed Richard has a backstory and that it will be explored. Juliet will be reappearing next season! There was a question about Nestor Carbonell -- then he was shown backstage getting eyeliner applied! Once again, they confirmed the Dharma food drop on the island will be explained next season. Someone asked is Jacob's Adversary is named Esau. Michael Emerson said "That might be too much, but I like the way your mind is working." The season 5 DVD set will have more revelations about the Dharma Initiative. The final year "won't have a big role" in the last season. Darlton confirmed Jacob has NOT appeared as any other character in the show. They tied up the panel with a "In Memory" montage like they do for the dead on the Oscars. Showing Dr. Arzt, Mr. Eko, Boone, etc.... EDIT-When it ended with Charlie's death scene, Dominic Monaghan came out to wrap up the panel. One: ..." Greg and Stan, American Dad

Here's some CC YouTube links that plays up the 'alternate timeline' angle 1) An Oceanic Airlines ad commenting on their spotless safety record http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfoqYmGS6Xw 2) The Hurley chicken ad (about how he opened the franchise after returning from Australia) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlhkqAwEgvQ&feature=channel "We've got an egg donor. And here's some high-quality video of the panel broken into 4 parts:

Hopefully they'll appear online soon enough. "We've got an egg donor. More ComicCon tidbits from other sources not reported elsewhere:
* There was a marketing animation for next season, showing all our favorite characters (heralding the return of many of them) but the important thing is that the last character added to the animation was Locke, and he was very obviously facing backward, while all the other characters were facing forward. Hmm. * According to the America's Most Wanted clip, Kate Austen did not in fact kill her stepfather in an explosion, but she killed his employee, a plumber's assistant, instead. Have we wandered into alternate-timeline territory? * Carlton Cuse said right out loud that J.J. Abrams has not actively worked on Lost since season one. "We've got an egg donor. They'll combine her eggs with our sperm and then implant those embryos in a surrogate where, god willing, one of them will grow to term." "I thought I saw every episode of Star Trek. GlitterRock wrote:But long enough to let ALIAS die on the vine.... (Who, me? Bitter? Nah....) Regarding Hugo's Mr. Cluck's franchise, having seen the video, I am trying to not get obsessed about the numbers 418 and 442, featured prominently in it. I got suckered last season with that whole "John 3:16" red herring. All I want is for them to translate the glyphs in the countdown clock, tell us who the damn cave corpses are, explain Hugo's "ghosts", and either reveal the significance of the hatch numbers, or just tell us out loud they are purely random. More than anything else, the Mr. Cluck's commercial made me hungry for some El Pollo Loco.

The Kate/America's Most Wanted video (low quality) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z4T-G1SEIg Michael Emerson's Hurley audition (also low quality) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLYzBPEDIrA The "In Memory" montage (low quality) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQs57n7dxNo Pretty amusing. They give Tom's last name as "Friendly" (really!) and Karl's as "Marx." And finally from G4, an interview with some of the cast where Jorge Garcia confirms that Charlie is coming back next season. http://g4tv.com/videos/40223/Lost-Cast-Interviews/ "We've got an egg donor. The last bit of CC news I've seen. While not announced at the Lost panel, Ian Somerhalder revealed at the Vampire Diaries panel that, indeed, Boone will be reappearing in the final season. And what a difference a couple of weeks makes. I'd said: I haven't been doing a rewatch marathon, simply because I'm already zipping through the stories getting ready for the month-to-month special starting in August. .... well, that's changed. A group of fans at work are getting together starting in August to watch a season per month leading to the new series. We're still coordinating schedules (one night might be one episode, another we might watch four, it all depends on everyone's times) It should be fun watching it again with other people.
